Someone actually put me in a store!

It's been a few weeks now since I began selling my pieces (on consignment, I'm not popular enough for wholesale - yet!) at Local Take on Market & 17th in the Castro. Let me tell you... it doesn't matter if I never sell anything through them - the fact that these two women saw my things online and thought they were good enough to put in a physical store already made my year. When I opened my Etsy shop, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after almost seven months of it, it has been one of the best learning experiences of my (admittedly short) life to date. It's taught me about marketing, creativity (beyond just coming up with the actual knit goods), customer relations, the list goes on. A lot of it sounds like business blather but I don't know how else to explain it. Is it tacky to say you're proud of yourself? Oh well, I'll accept that. Because I'm really proud of myself for what I've accomplished so far with es//d.

Can you tell how excited I am? No, really - can you? I'm pretty excited. I was probably trying to play it cool. Just pretend you can see riiiiight through that, to the little squealing kid inside. Because we all know she's there!Ignore these knit scarves on the top shelf with the loops - those aren't mine, and therefore, they are irrelevant. Irrelevant, I tell you! Just kidding - they're by KMKnits, she does great stuff! We have pretty different styles but I think they're complimentary for SF fashion. At least, I hope they are!And finally, just for fun, here's a picture of some beauuuuutiful yarn I bought recently at ImagiKnit, also known as the place all my money would go if I had more money to spend on yarn. Thank goodness there are only limited reserves in these coffers! Phew.This wasn't a very word-heavy post, I know, but sometimes it's fun just to see pictures of my life.
