I read somewhere recently that there is nothing more obnoxious than a blogger who keeps apologizing for not keeping up with her posts... I am shocked by this, SHOCKED! Not really, that makes perfect sense. Blogging is supposed to be fun and a release and if you can't get yourself to do it often, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it. Apologizing for it certainly won't help what ails you!

Instead, I'll just stop apologizing for when "real" life gets in the way, because it so often does.

My living situation is somewhat of a sitcom set up - I'm living in the same bedroom that two of my best friends each lived in for a period of years, in an apartment where the room assignments and arrangements have swapped at least three times, and with a friend I've known since the fourth grade. So it's only fitting that, on an early Saturday morning, I should recreate the Saturday routine of my friend Freyan: going to Philz for coffee, and buying myself flowers for the week at the florist next door.

Look at those baby tendrils on the stems! The pink and purple hues against the forest green leaves!

There's just something about having fresh cut flowers (or, in my case, flowering Kale) that brightens your day. Even though they don't last forever, the time they spend looking so full of real life is entrancing. I can't afford to indulge in this practice every week, but now I know an easy pick me up.

What are your favorite flowers to have around the house?
