One Two Three | Shoes for Summer

Sometimes, summertime style can get monotonous. One can get positively lost in the layers of sheer blouses, crocheted crop tops, and denim cutoffs. The beach coveralls and the Havaiana flippies. The boat shoes and the sunglasses.

I am not impervious to these seasonal trends, and I, too, find my mind wandering to the bright colors and lighter fabrics of the summer months. But another area of fashion that I find just as entrancing? Shoes. Always shoes.

Here are my three top picks for shoes I hope to sport this summer (parents, take note!):

1. Arizona Birkenstocks, White Birko-Flor, $89.95

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm determined to make Birks work. I have friends on both sides of the (heated) debate and I can't wait to prove all the haters wrong! Or, right, depending on how they look. You know I'll wear them either way!

2. Minnetonka El Paso Suede Moc, $42.95

I have a pair of grey suede mocs that I absolutely live in when running errands or wearing a casual outfit to work. They have rubber grip on the bottom, indicating they're meant to be worn outside, but are just as comfortable as my J.Crew slippers. I would love to get a pair in this deep brown shade with some color on the toe!

3. Franco Sarto Refresh Boot, $119

I have been searching high and low for the right peep-toe bootie, and I think this may be the winner. I want one with a heel low enough to wear all day, but high enough to look dressed up; in a neutral color, but not boring; summery in appearance, so that the peep toe makes sense, but with enough style that it can be worn year round. Ta da! I'm crossing my fingers for some of these for my birthday...
