Hot Spot: Spettro

My friend Lauren's high school friend Meredith (you following?) is now our friend. Meredith got a job in Oakland, so she moved there! Which means we have an entirely new neighborhood to explore.

Lily and I went to visit her new digs and we all walked down the street for dinner. After much aimful (is that the opposite of aimless? We had a direction and a vague idea of where we were going, I think that should count) wandering, we reached a mutually-agreeable dinner destination: Spettro.

Italian kitsch at its finest. I wish I had taken more pictures of the decor, but I didn't want to detract from the fact that we were actually having a fantastic time. You'll just have to venture over there to see the insides for yourself.

I had mushroom ravioli. It was incredible. Just typing this makes me remember the cheesy ravioli filling and perfectly sauteed mushrooms, soaked in some kind of onion and wine sauce. Wow.
