Réveille Coffee Co. | HOT SPOT

Many moons ago (alright, many many MANY moons ago, like during the summer last year), two women ventured into territories unknown, searching far and wide for that elusive cup of joe. In a land ravaged by caffeine starved workaholics, where is a girl to find an energy fix? Is there nowhere to turn? IMG_0582

Oh, that's right. We live in San Francisco, and there are literally two cafés on each block and a bodega/liquor store on every corner. I think we'll live.

But, that even further solidifies the point of this post: Réveille Coffee Co. is an oasis in a world of Starbucks overload, a place where the artistry of coffee has not become so overrun by a hipster clientele aesthetic that two regular women feel uncomfortable taking a respite within these walls.

(and by "regular women," obviously I mean "spectacular individuals with great fashion sense and a nose for quality.")

Don't get me wrong - I love a hipster aesthetic as much as the next twenty-something. In fact, I regularly aspire to be confused for an actual hipster (as opposed to what I really am: the lovechild of a Wes Anderson impostor's directorial debut and every Reese Witherspoon movie ever made.) But there's something nice about walking into a brightly lit café and not feeling intimidated by the staff, the menu, or the atmosphere - while also enjoying the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff and patrons.

Réveille Coffee Co. is warm, welcoming, and has the kind of tastefully decorated interior that would serve a business meeting, a first date, or a catch-up coffee equally well.

I can't say this enough - walk your little self down to 18th Street, and stop in to Réveille Coffee Co.
