Happy Friday the Thirteenth! I am taking a decidedly positive spin on today (even though I was exhausted when I woke up after 8 hours of sleep and Flickr is down as I type this) in hopes that it will ward off any bad mojo attached to the day-date. Mojo? Juju? Are those the same? No, I don't think so. Anyway. I'm linking up, surprise surprise, with Lauren Elizabeth today! Her blog is always so fun to read. And I get to live vicariously through her with the cats because I'm too allergic to have any! They sure do look cute though, I'll give 'em that. h1h2 h3h4h5H54Fblack 1. Last weekend the bf and I went to Cajun House in the Inner Richmond with a couple of his friends. We'd been before but he had a Groupon so we went back for another round. His friends were not so excited when we started out but by the end they were singing the praises of the fried catfish and the spicy prawns. Me? I'm partial to the garlic noodles and the garlic-butter mussels. Yummmmm.

2. After that night, I decided to get back on the fitness bandwagon and experimented with some "healthy eats" (that phrase is growing on me, be forewarned...) This here is a picture of mashed cauliflower with olive oil, parmesan, and chives. Note that I did not use a food processor to mash them, just a fork since I was starving, so they're supposed to be a lot creamier than this. They're also supposed to be more yellow so maybe I didn't use enough olive oil? Whatever, it still tasted good. Healthy eats! Yeah!

3. It's hard to believe 9/11 happened twelve years ago. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, sometimes it feels a lifetime ago. I can still remember being a sophomore in high school, sitting in our school gymnasium, afraid and confused and sad listening to updates of the events. It was heartbreaking and terrifying - at 15, I knew the whole world had just changed. I will forever be thankful for the courage of all first responders everywhere who helped as much as they could on that horrible day and who continue to help when our country and our cities and towns need it.

4. I finished my herringbone cowl I've been working on for the shop! H name ideas? "Harriet" is winning so far. I'm going to be sending Lauren Elizabeth    a cowl to style on her blog sometime this fall and I'm wondering if this one should be the winner... Any thoughts, L?

5. This morning I got my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. I can't wait for the leaves to fall (they still do that in California, I swear) and for the skies to be grey more often and the wind to whip through the tree outside my bay window while I drink tea and watch holiday movies and knit more things. I. Cannot. Wait. For Fall.

What did you all do this week? Give me some good goss! That's gossip, fyi.
